Bar Libra

The bass hits your chest before you even clear the front door at Bar Libra on South Orange. Downtown Orlando sidewalks are usually pretty dead on a Tuesday, but this stretch stays loud with people spilling out past the velvet rope. You aren't getting in here without waiting ten minutes while the bouncer checks IDs and sizes up the crowd.

Inside, it's dark and packed tight against the walls. The whole lounge is lit in deep purple and red neon that makes everyone look like they're in a music video, and the bar staff is slinging vodka sodas as fast as hands can move. Sound bounces off the concrete floors and glass tables, so you're shouting just to order a drink.

Most folks are posted up around the back DJ booth where the bass shakes the floorboards, while the front booths stay packed with people nursing old fashioneds. Nobody's checking coats because it's eighty degrees outside at midnight anyway, and the air conditioning is fighting for its life against the body heat.
